    • @Rodney Carter not really, they'll be on gamepass and MS has a steady revenue instead of individual games sales. As of now, Gamepass has 18M subscribers, that means they are making $269 million a month of constant revenue. That's way more than they'll make in a year of disc and digital copies.

    • The studio that was developing the game was a third party. Frankly, they shouldhave just made Zenimax itself oversee it since Elderscrolls Online is doing great. Who ever the devs were for the other studio were hacks.

"its only now that we have access to mcrosoft coffer that we can take "Risks" and make a complete product...", How about being competent or take some risk to receive great revenu... too difficult i guess... Or, reduce the scope of your project if you cant take it.

    • When asked about the recent acquisition of Bethesda by XBOX/Microsoft, Todd Howard said *"It just works..We get 16× the money"* ..It's amazing that Bethesda has been able to push out so much cr@p and get 7.2 billion for their company and all of the IP's. Really, think about.. they've done nothing but put out a bunch of low effort games for the last decade and they just sold out for 7.2 billion dollars. It is truly amazing to see, dude.

  • tbh by the time Bethesda come out with a game I think all exclusives will be gone and every game is going to be multiplatform, they already made a deal with cross platform play and now I am see some Sony exclusives coming out on Xbox too, especially with cross platform, I think it is going to be hard justifying that 1 friend can play the game but you cannot because you have a different console it would take the point away from Cross platform play especially if it has an online mode, with story driven modes I think it is fine but for online play i really dont think it would be fair for it too be exclusive. so Microsoft buying Bethesda isn't a big deal as it would have been but I will say I hope it makes their games better and actually playable.

    Griffin GamingGriffin Gaming4 päivää sitten
  • Microsoft is most likely not going to put any new Bethesda games onto anything outside of the Xbox and windows. Sony and M$ have entered into the next iteration of warfare on exclusives and indie company buyouts, and M$ got a huge advantage with this Bethesda buyout. Everyone has played Skyrim. Everyone knows what Skyrim is. The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series has a huge marketing advantage if its exclusive to any one platform. Xbox sales will shoot through the roof if that is the only console it is available on and M$ will be making a terrible move if they allow Bethesda games to go outside of their own platforms, at least for the first year of any game's initial release.

  • I really want to give Beth the benefit of the doubt. Lord knows I'm a Skyrim fanboy even after all these years. But I've grown to have an attitude of "I'll believe it when I see it". I hate to repeat what's been said countless times, but Beth has a history of releasing substandard products. They're not called Bugthesda for nothing. Any game made by any studio might have a mediocre story, environments, lack of NPC interactions, etc. Being creative isn't easy. On the other side of the coin, it's unacceptable when a game suffers from technical instability. Examples being random crashes ( though there's no such thing as a random crash ), broken quests / missions, or even a game that refuses to launch right from the get go ( looking at you RDR 2 ). So here's to hoping the acquisition by Microsoft will bring the second set of eyes needed for acceptable QA.

  • I am gonna call BS on this. Unless Microsoft is going to completely override their management, which I assume their not, since this a buy out and not a merger, all the tech support in the world won't fix Bethesda's problems. It wasn't just FO76 being a broken game, it was the piss poor way they managed customer service afterwards; the false advertising about the duffle bags & rum, the throttling of refunds, the attempt to satisfy complaints with a $5 gift voucher for the Atom Shop, the decision to sell a premium subscription to the game for *$100 A YEAR...* Fallout 76 is quintessential proof that Bethesda management has lost their marbles, and Microsoft isn't some divine savior that's going to swoop in and fix that. People are still playing that game to this day; if its making money despite all of its problems, why would Microsoft care?

  • Okay so your telling me you believe Bethesda would be okay with making there games exclusive to one console, and then being okay with giving that game away on game pass for a fraction of the cost? Yea keep dreaming buddy. If there games go straight to game pass then without a doubt there new games will be cross platform. Like it’s rather moronic to think a video game company as big as Bethesda would just put years into a game and not get actual copies sold instead of given away for nearly free on game pass, and still be exclusive to one console.

To me seeing them hop with microsoft looks like more multiplayer based games will be produced because that's what microsoft is better at and sadly I just don't have it in me to think positive about this. If it works then great for them but I get this feeling we will eventually see less single player games by bethesda

  • Let's hope they get the next Fallout game right. There's so much potential for this series that it pains me to see what happened. As somebody who's played horror games and watched many horror movies over the years, as well as Fallout 1 and New Vegas, it has really dawned upon me that Bethesda went into the series unknowing of what kind of mood that kind of game really needs to have. Going into a post-apocalyptic world isn't supposed to feel epic, sad, or cheery. It's supposed to feel devastating, oppressive, and bleak. That's what Fallout 1 did right, as well as New Vegas. The music and voice acting specifically killed that mood in Fallout 3. Everybody sounded too cheery or unaware of just how messed up the situation really was, and while I appreciate the main theme of Fallout 3, Inon Zur should've kept in mind the utter terror you're supposed to be feeling most of the time. Mark Morgan's work in Fallout, Fallout 2, and Van Buren (The originally cancelled, but soon to be remade Fallout 3 by Black Isle Studios) really set the mood for the series. His use of radio voices, sirens, dog whines, and various other sounds in Fallout, the use of synthesizers and electric guitars with chanting and industrial sounds in Fallout 2, and the use of clearly disconnected piano tunes in Van Buren makes you feel hopeless and on edge in a world destroyed by nuclear war. New Vegas got the mood right, using a handful of Morgan's tracks from Fallout 1 and 2 with other pieces written by Zur that actually fit the mood of the series. I guess it could be safe to say that it was Bethesda's fault for getting the mood wrong that lead to the wrong kind of music being used for Fallout 3, 4 and 76, but I suppose even Todd could see that it needed more time. Bethesda should focus on the atmosphere we were given in Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout: New Vegas, then try to work that into their next game. Fallout is supposed to have you on edge, not smiling 24/7 while people are enslaved, dying and killing one another. It's not because I'm trying to be edgy. My reason being is that Fallout is meant to feel very real to the player. If the world was nuked, you wouldn't be like "Aww, that's so sad!!!" You'd be like "What do I do now? Is there even any reason to keep going?" Fallout 2 and New Vegas was a bit of a different story because you play the role of characters who were born and raised in this world. You will discover things that still keep you on edge, but you're better off than somebody who just came out of an underground shelter. Fallout 3 was just kinda like "My dad is gone and now I have to save him. Oh, the world got destroyed. That sucks. :T" Fallout 4 was like "My wife got killed and my son was kidnapped. I'm supposed to feel some kind of trauma for this character, especially after seeing the world end, but it's just kinda like... whatever." I didn't bother playing Fallout 76, but I've listened to the title track alone and I was just like "... Okay, then." So as somebody who pays attention to the mood, atmosphere, and how music is used in certain settings, it really does seem that Fallout 1, Fallout 2, the original Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas were prime examples of how an oppressive, post-apocalyptic setting should be handled. Fallout 3 was too epic, Fallout 4 was too sad, and Fallout 76 just seemed too hopeful and cheery for its own good from what little I've actually seen of that one. Luckily, taking Morgan's music tracks from Fallout 1 and 2 (located in Fallout: New Vegas' music folders) and putting them in Fallout 3's music folders can really improve the mood of the game. Just wish somebody would've gone out of their way to do a mod to improve the voice acting, similar to New Vegas' "Brave New World" mod. I still love Fallout 3, Fallout 4 had some good ideas and I heard Fallout 76 had improved since launch, but until I see some true improvement in the next title, I don't think I'll be buying the next Fallout anytime soon.

  • Don't be fooled... more money means more laziness. Granted, anyone with a sensible brain will be motivated to do better if they earn more money, but the same can be said for indie developers who create marvels despite having a low budget... so the question is, what's the rich bitch's excuse?

  • Any newer game that doesn't offer a DRM-free disc for one honest price is a disaster. Online being a second option for game modes. As far as I'm concerned FO4 is a disaster and strayed far from the post-apoc series to appeal to the child-friendly Fortnite graphics. They care more about selling cheap slave labor merch like plastic helmets and ugly jackets than the games these days. At least give your consumer base the option of finding manufacturing work producing these items. I highly doubt any communist slave laborers are buying $300 power helmets made of cheap plastic. And they can't even give you a disc lol. This company is a traitor to the West by using cheap foreign labor which funds another world Gov and their military. You are funding your own enslavement by supporting these companies. Many more companies are as well. By the way where does the YongYea merch come from? Does he support/employ Americans/EU, or communist slaves for the dirt cheap labor? I highly doubt any labor captives overseas even have internet access to buy Yong merch. Funny how it all works. Who even has disposable income for anything like merch these days? Another Gov stimulus debt-based loan I suppose?
